Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Rigby he has not received last week’s Illustrated London News or the Leader. Owen says that he had intended for two officially prepared addresses for the Queen to go to Lord Palmerston and the Home Secretary but this does not matter as the time has passed.

Owen concludes by saying that he is glad that Rigby is suited by Mr Gregory as he is a regularly bred man of business and that for this class there have been few indeed among those calling themselves socialists.
