Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Rigby that he has sent to The Times some papers, which he received from Pare, regarding the public meeting presided over by the Duke of Kent in July 1819. These papers make reference to New Lanark and the excitement created in the public mind at that time. Owen hope The Times can use them in reference to the recent Education Conferences. Owen gives Rigby instructions to collect the papers from The Times when they have finished with them. Owen wants to give them to Dr Travis to use as an introduction to the first volume [of The Life of Robert Owen].
