Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter which begins with Owen saying that judging from the leading articles in The Times they have decided to continue to support the old system. Owen asks Rigby to call and collect the papers he gave them to read. Owen goes on to say that these papers are the memorials he intends to present to both Houses, the Lords of the Treasury and to Her Majesty.

Owen says that the next mail steamship for the United States is the last one that can carry publications encouraging people to come to London for their congress. He asks Rigby to encourage Cotter to complete his last manuscript to go with the Gift.

Owen concludes by giving an update on the weather.
