Shipping companies, Cartsburn Dockyard, Greenock, Inverclyde, , Scotland.

Both companies were incorporated in June 1974 as wholly owned subsidiaries of Scott Lithgow Ltd , Greenock. The companies placed an order with Scotts Shipbuilding Co Ltd for 28,000 ton bulk carriers of the type built previously by Scotts for Sugar Line Ltd . In May 1976, the share capital of both companies was acquired by the Furness Withy Group . In 1978, Furness Withy transferred orders for contract nos.1189, Oroga and 1190 Oropesa to Lithgows Ltd for completion. Ardgowan Shipping Co Ltd and Blackhall Shipping Co Ltd were dissolved in 1990.
