Scope and Content

Correspondence and papers from a box file labelled by EF 'Letters May-August 1990', although there is a small quantity of material from earlier dates. Correspondents represented include: Ruth Fainlight; Moris Farhi; Martin, Adam and Joel Feinstein; and Jascha Kessler.

Topics of correspondence include: various BBC radio projects; the American edition of EF's novel All You Need; book production and publishing matters; book launches, festivals and readings; EF's receipt of the Cholmondeley Award in 1990; permissions; the honorary degree of D.Litt conferred on EF by the University of Leicester in 1990; the publication of her novel The Border in France; and general personal matters.

The file also includes: two annotated faxes of 'A Poet's Memoir' [probably by EF] (1990); press cuttings from the Yorkshire Post and the Hampstead and Highgate Express containing reviews of EF's All You Need; and a colour photograph of unidentified women captioned as 'reunion 1986'.
