Lady Chatterley's Confession

Scope and Content

Pre-publication papers relating to EF's novel Lady Chatterley's Confession (London: Macmillan, 1995). Described by reviewers as a 'sequel' to D.H. Lawrence's infamous novel Lady Chatterley's Lover (1928). Lawrence's graphic and highly sexual novel was published in Italy in 1928, but was banned in the United States until 1959, and in England until 1960. The MS and proof material was stored by EF in five box files.
