Administrative / Biographical History
Cambridge University Explorers' and Travellers' Club was responsible for overseeing student expeditions to countries throughout the world. The Cambridge Expedition Committee, the club's screening panel, approved around twenty-five trips annually. The expeditions were usually concerned with academic research or field work in undeveloped countries. Today the club is called the Cambridge University Expeditions Society.
