Leicester records: Hall Book

Scope and Content

Loose papers wrapped up in a newspaper dated 15 July 1903, titled in pencil 'Leicester', and in ink 'Records of Leicester - 1899, 1901 and 1905' . The notes appear to be mostly in Bateson's handwriting, although the papers contain transcriptions not in her hand. They appear to be transcriptions of various legal papers (court cases, financial and property settlements) and include a drawing of a map of Leicester and two newspaper clippings which refer to Mary Bateson and her research on the Records of Leicester, dated in pencil 1903.
