The collection contains notebooks, letters and miscellaneous items relating to Cymdeithas Cymry'r Eglwys Newydd (Whitchurch Welsh Society) which was inaugurated in 1943. The Society was a cultural club which was originally started in World War II to hold services in the Welsh language in order to assist those people who found it difficulty to travel to other areas to worship in their own language.
