The collection comprises 7 black and white photographs of the exterior and interior of theCouncil House in Nottingham in about 1929, at the time of its opening. The photographs were taken byStewart Bale of Liverpool.

Stewart Bale was a photographer based at 53, Lord Street, Liverpool in the 1920s. The CouncilHouse in Nottingham, built on the site of a Corn Exchange building, was opened in 1929 by the Princeof Wales.
