Unlabelled red hard-bound book. Contains:  

  • List headed "The Ben Line Steamers Ltd. Voyages Current at 31/3/40" featuring a list of Ben ships and monetary values entered under the headings "Estd." and "Actual.", 1940;
  • list of Ben ships and ships managed for the Government with a note of cause of loss or damage, c1940;
  • list of foreign vessels for which Ben Line were accouinting for, c1940;
  • copy of a memorandum of "Arrangement Between P. & O. and Messrs. Wm. Thomson & Co. In Reference to Loading Each Others Vessels on East Coast U. K. Berth to the Far East, 1940;
  • summary accounts of profit or loss for voyages of Ben Line ships on hire to the Admiralty. Includes Benlawers, Bencleuch, Benmohr, Benreoch, Benalder, Bendoran, Benavon, Benarty, Bengloe, Benmacdhui, Benledi, Benlomond, Bennevis, Benvannoch, Benvenue, Benvorlich, Benvrackie, Benwyvis, Benalbanach, Bencruachan and Benrinnes, 1940-1941;
  • heading entries for costs to recover from J. Brocklebank, Clan Line and A. Holt & Co with only one entry listed under A. Holt & Co for costs to recover in relation to a Benvorlich voyage in 1942;
  • list of items payable by the Ministry of Transport to Ben Line and lists of which items were claimed and which were not yet claimed as at 1943;
  • accounts "as at 1945" for voyages for Ben ships.
