  • List of crew and next of kin details;
  • copies of correspondence to next of kin notifying them of fate of crew (all survived);
  • copies of correspondence with the Mercantile Marine Office, Leith, concerning the incident;
  • copies of correspondence with various bodies as to the fate of the ship and the transport of the surviving crew;
  • copies of correspondence sent to crew to arrange interviews about the incident and the payment of monies;
  • copies of correspondence concerning movement of crew and payment of crew wages;
  • copies of correspondence with various bodies concerning sabotage aboard the ship;
  • copy of correspondence with the Mercantile Marine Office, Leith, and other bodies concerning payment of Chinese crew wages;
  • copies of correspondence sent to next of kin informing them of crew that were transferred to Fort Qu'Appelle and subsequently lost when it was sunk, including details of payments of monies to be made;
  • lists of compensation forms signed, cash received by crew at Halifax, government effects allowance paid by Wm Thomson & Co and estimated value of crew wages at time of loss;
  • list of crew including rating and the name of a ship (non Ben Line ships).
