Scope and Content

Black and white photograph of a view across St. Mark's Square in Venice, to St Mark's Cathedral, an elaborate and highly decorated building with arches and two domed roofs. People are standing in the square with the pigeons. The bottom of the Campenile is in the right of the picture, pointed out by an arrow in the manuscript caption that is on the bottom white edge. Pasted onto a page in the album.

Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

Poor condition. Yellowed, particularly in the centre where it is pasted to the page. A number of small patches of brown mould left and bottom. Vertical line indentaitons top, caused by pressing against photographs on the opposite page. Production method: gelatin-silver print.
