Scope and Content

Page of an album with four black and white photographs pasted on. All of different views of an [English?] fishing village. They feature; top left, a narrow ally of cobbled steps leading up a hill between whitewashed buildings; top right, a man driving a donkey down a cobbled street, watched by a woman; bottom left, a view down a street on a steep hill, to the sea in the distance; bottom right, a man driving two donkeys with loads up a narrow alley of cobbled steps. All brownish in tone.

Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

Poor condition. Photographs significantly yellowed, but unevenly, and slightly faded. Some mirroring in places. Top left and bottom left in particular have markings and discolouration caused by pressing against photographs on the opposite page. Bottom left has dull patches caused by damp, possibly faint mould growth. Production method: gelatin-silver print, pasted onto the page
