Scope and Content

Page of an album with three faded black and white photographs pasted on, all of different groups of women picnicking. The top two photographs have four women present, and the bottom one three. In the top photograph the women are sitting at a table outside under a tree. The women in the other two photographs are sitting on the ground with picnic baskets. The middle photograph has a manuscript caption on the bottom white edge.

Note: the photographs do not seem to be of the same women.

Note: the inscription on the middle photograph refers to the women featured in the picture left to right.

Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

Poor condition. All photographs faded (especially bottom) and yellowed unevenly (especially middle and bottom). All have some mirroring, white spotting, and some dull markings on the surface. The top photograph has a crease top left corner, tiny black flecks, and is warped where pasted to the page. The top two photographs have white streaks across the image. Slight repair needed. Production method: gelatin-silver print.
