They were trying to get the women to pass resolutions condemning the down-tools policy of the men and pledging themselves to support the government in carrying on the war. She had been entertaining some munitions girls. 'I was very frightened ... but got on with them all right.' She had seen an American anti-pacifist film called 'Womanhood' which was 'first rate'.
