Postcard posted 'on the shores of the Danube'. They were going the rest of their journey by boat.
Postcard to Mrs Chibnall from Elsie Bowerman, with a colour illustration of a wooden church of log construction, with a small open round tower with spire, on a grassy mound, surrounded by a fence. There is a white border to the left, with Cyrillic script in black and red. On the reverse is large printed text in the same language, in black and red, a manuscript message in purple colouring pencil, and two postage stamps.
Note: the postcard was posted from the shores of the Danube while Bowerman was travelling between Odessa in the Ukraine, and Romania, but it may depict a different country. The Cyrillic script may be in a Balkan language.
