Administrative / Biographical History
The Leverhulme Scholarships were administered by a committee which included the current AA President, a representative of the Leverhulme Trustees, a representative of the RIBA, two members of the AA Council and the AA's Director of Education. The scholarships covered the payment of full fees, together with maintenance costs and travel bursaries for 4th and 5th year students. Five scholarships were available, one for each year (usually renewed if student proved worthy). The Leverhulme Scholarships appear to have been discontinued after 1961, as it was considered that the increase in numbers of Local Education Authority awards made them unneccesary.
