Scope and Content

Papers of 'Rhuddenfab', comprising correspondence, a diary, poems, hymns, adjudications, essays and articles; papers, 1880, relating to the centenary celebrations of the founding of Sunday schools; and an essay by, and in the hand of, Daniel Owen, 1888.

Administrative / Biographical History

Lewis Jones ('Rhuddenfab', 1835-1915), printer, poet and journalist, was born near Llandwrog church, Rhuthin. He both competed and adjudicated in 'eisteddfodau' and corresponded with many of Wales's prominent public and cultural figures. He also wrote a series of articles entitled 'Deugain mlynedd yn ôl'.
