Scope and Content

The original is a bamboo segment, 9.3 x 10.3 cm, with 62 lines of text, inscribed in the r ncong script in South Sumatran Malay. (RM Ms.II AS 5018 (3025)). Connected with the dundang ceremony (compare DJA/2/36 and R 122). It is similar in form to juarian, and begins with a passage in blank verse:

'Ini tjarita bitang mukawur

Gumaratji bitang mukawur

Gugur madari dawun rangin

Kapalang tjaradi ki mas kondur'

Ends:

'Madundang di pitu langit

Salabar kapung pitjare

La djambu palu satitik

Satitik iring ba' ...
