A report of the day's proceedings in London on the 19th of May 1906

Scope and Content

Manuscript, corrected in red. Account of a deputation to the Prime Minister in which MA Rawle took part. The procession started on the Embankment and a deputation was received in the Foreign Office. Those present included Mrs Pankhurst and 7 other Women's Social & Political Union (WSPU) delegates (Miss Kenny, Miss Neal, Mrs Pethick Lawrence, Mrs Martel, Miss Harker, Mrs Martyn, Mrs Rawle). The account is very lively - some of the speeches are summarised, as well as the Prime Minister's reply. The deputation then rejoined the procession on the Embankment and marched to Trafalgar Square. Account of the speeches. Resolution expressing profound dissatisfaction with the reply of the Prime Minister passed at the end of the meeting.
