From Haydon Hall, near Pinner, Middlesex, to Revd. Hindson in Lerwick, in the Shetlands, re the progress of work in the islands, to where a sixth preacher had just been appointed by the Conference in Liverpool. Clarke describes his plan for building a chapel on South Yell, and refers to the Shetlands preachers by name.

He encourages Hindson to learn Greek, and promises to send a grammar book.
