Scope and Content

From Haydon Hall, near Pinner, Middlesex, to Revd. Samuel Harpur in Coleraine, Ireland, describing his conversation with Mr. Tobias in Leeds, Yorkshire during the course of which Clarke was accused of neglecting the Methodists in Ireland, in favour of the Shetlands Mission. Clarke denies this charge at length.

He has had a conversation with an unnamed friend, who would like to see the foundation of schools in parts of Ireland, where there is as yet no provision for them. Clarke himself has an interest, and asks Harpur to investigate the state of education in the Coleraine area, with regard to possible accommodation fora school, and the availibility of a qualified local preacher to take charge.

Port Rush has been mentioned by Mr. McAlvine as being destitute of schools.
