Scope and Content

From Haydon Hall, near Pinner, Middlesex, to an unnamed correspondent (Revd. George Wilkinson) in Whitehaven, Cumberland, regretting that he must turn down Wilkinson's invitation.

He refutes at great length the charge that Methodists are "schismatics from the Church of England", and stresses the affection that is felt by Methodists for the "Mother Church". He states that in the event of a conflict with the Non-Conformists, the Methodists would not hesitate to side with the Anglicans, and serve as your "light infantry".
