Scope and Content

From Liverpool, to Revd. Samuel Harpur in Coleraine, Ireland, describing the finance of the Irish schools-the reliance on 3 subscribers, and Clarke's firm rule never to accept money that would otherwise have benefitted another Irish charity.

He refers to the suspicion existing in London re Clarke's influence over the schools, and emphasises that all his work is directed toward the greater good of Methodism. Clarke had only established the schools, after he had been told that the Missionary Society had not the resources to do so.
