Autograph letter in black ink. Heavily cropped. Repair where seal affixed and along one edge. Date: 23. Novr. 24, 1791. Sender’s address: “Glocester.” From Tucker to unidentified correspondent – remains of trimmed address: “... Bath”. Opens by stating that he has “bid adieu long ago to all Controversy”, but that he would be glad to hear that others continue in his vein. Asks the correspondent to bring “Sir G. Colebroke’s Book” [unidentified] with them if they should call upon him in Bristol in January. Reflects on religious toleration and persecution in both pagan antiquity and subsequent Christian history. Minor jottings on verso (accounts?).
