Scope and Content

Large bundle of correspondence, articles, publications and papers on women, unions, nurseries, health, socialist feminism, housing in Tottenham, battered women, men against sexism, women's liberation, family allowance campaign, childbirth rights, Hackney Under 5s, Sex Discrimination Act 1975, the family wage, police harassment of homosexuals, single mothers and other matters. The file includes 'Scrooge and Scrooge', typescript draft of a pamphlet by the Notting Hill Group (1972), describing the failed attempts by women workers at Chesebrough Ponds to organise resistance, detailing wages, conditions at the factory and the company's response to their action (26 pp); 'Rising Free Yellow Pages', catalogue of radical publications, 1977; an unsigned research proposal 'The Housing Needs of Battered Women', c.1977; various papers for Hackney Under 5s meetings and resource guide, c.1978-1980; programme and papers for 'Choisir de Donner la Vie', an international meeting in Paris 5-7 Oct, 1979; a women's calendar for 1985, published by Deptford Women's Photography Project; Rowbotham's detailed notes on the proceedings of the Hackney Trades Council conference on women, 23-24 Nov, 1974; Rowbotham's appointments diary for 1975.

The National Abortion Campaign (NAC) Newsletter for Mar 1979 was transferred to the Periodical Collection in 2007.
