Scope and Content

Photocopies of correspondence of Bier with Hans E. Schwabe, including letters, receipts and telegrams, concerning negotiations and sales of works of art (including drawings by Fragonard and Duerer); the purchase of the decoration of a drawing room designed by Robert Adams at Northumberland House in London; as well as dealings with clients, travel plans and family members.

Also includes copies of correspondence of Schwabe with Professor Sigismond Rawita Gawronski, Herbert Bier, Mrs M. Whyler, H. Eisemann and Arthur Goldschmidt concerning negotiations for the viewing and purchase of a collection of drawings owned by Prince Lubomirsky.
