Papers regarding the use of Alcohol by Christians

Scope and Content

This group contains newspaper cuttings, correspondence and a few booklets, regarding the drinking of alcohol by Christians and also Sunday Opening in Wales. Also included is an Address by Alfred Edwin Morris to the Governing Body of the Church in Wales (dated 20th April 1960).

The correspondents include The Cardiff&District Temperance and Band of Hope Union; the Reverend J B Harrison (General Secretary of The Church of England Temperance Society and National Police Court Mission); The Reverend Trefor H Griffiths (secretary of the Fellowship of the Lord's Day in Wales) and Arthur Bennison (Consultant at the Wales and Monmouthshire Sunday Opening Council - a council which is part of the Licensed Victualler's Defence League of England and Wales) .
