Rosalind Hill was born in 1908 and educated at Oxford University. After graduating in 1931 she took a post teaching medieval history at University College, Leicester, moving to Westfield College, University of London in 1937 as a lecturer. She remained here until her retirement in 1976, having been appointed professor in 1971 and later vice-principal of the college.
She served on the councils of several record series, acting as secretary and then president of the Ecclesiastical History Society, as well as general editor (1958-1968) and chair (1968-1983) of the Canterbury and York Society.
Rosalind Hill died in 1997.
