Conditions Governing Access

This section contains illustrations, prints and photographs of the different buildings which occupied the Sadler's Wells site from 1730-1931. There are illustrations of events which occurred within the theatre, such as the reaction of the audience to a false fire alarm in 1807. There are further illustrations of members of the audience watching performances within the theatre. There are also photographs of a derelict Sadler's Wells in the 1920s and of the 1931 Sadler's Wells building.
