Scope and Content

Shows a group of people on a hillside, between Seat Hollow and Honister Pass in the Lake District according to the legend. The picture appears to have been taken at the 1887 congress in Carlisle when the delegates went on an excursion to Keswick, mentioned in the congress reports for that year. The back states it is from the Carlisle Congress from J. J. Dent and that the photo was taken by Barker, possibly W. Barker who is mentioned in the congress list for this year. The picture shows Ben Jones, who was the chairman of the conference for that year with several other unidentified persons.
