Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The concept of a National Commemoration Association in Wales first took place in 1965, but it was not until 1970 that the Association began to take shape.
It's objective was to restore a sense of National pride and help guarantee the continuing existence of the Welsh identity by reviving a sense of National consciousness.
The name Cofiwn was adopted in 1977 as the chief title of the Association.
