Letters: Mr. Cynric Lloyd, gloddaith or Gloddeth, Nr. Conway and his agent Geo. Bodcock to Col. Peacock, Plas Llanfair

Scope and Content

LETTERS: Mr. Cynric Lloyd, gloddaith or Gloddeth, Nr. Conway and his agent Geo. Bodcock to Col. Peacock, Plas Llanfair, remitting the money due to the Penmynydd almshouse from the Mostyn estate. The money was apparently due from Mr. Henry Hughes of Plas Penmynydd but because he was often insolvent and unable to pay promptly it was arranged that the monies should be paid directly by the Mostyn estate (see 211 above). In a letter dated July 1815 he writes how pleased he is to hear that Lord Uxbridge is recovering. He is so gallant a man and so good a soldier that he brings credit to the island (Anglesey).
