Extract from the minutes of the Board of Guardians of the Bangor and Beaumaris Union

Scope and Content

EXTRACT from the minutes of the Board of Guardians of the Bangor and Beaumaris Union. The minutes report that 7 of the almsmen of Penmynydd had complained that they sometimes had to wait 3 months for their allowances after they became due and that they had to buy food on credit and consequently pay more for it. They also complained about the bad state of repair of the almshouses, and one chamber had been vacant for two years but they had not received any extra money nor had any repairs been done. For these faults they blamed the Rev. James Williams.
