This series consists of correspondence files - most of which also contain other papers - relating to the whole history of The works of Thomas De Quincey editing project, from Lindop's earlier work on De Quincey (including his biography, The opium-eater: a life of Thomas De Quincey and his Worlds Classics edition of De Quincey's Confessions of an English opium-eater), to the publication of the Works. The material includes correspondence with other editors working on the project, Pickering and Chatto (the publishers of the edition), and other academics with an interest in De Quincey, as well as research students, librarians, archivists, literary associations and other interested individuals.
