Administrative / Biographical History
The Ballast, Sand & Allied Trades' Association (Scottish District) held the first meeting with a full representation of members on 14 October 1942 , although it was in existence prior to this date. Committees were appointed when required to deal with specific issues such as haulage rates, pricing, and new plant. The name of the association was changed on 1 November 1956 to the Sand & Gravel Association of Great Britain (Scottish Area) . The Association was dissolved sometime after 1960 .
