Administrative / Biographical History
Alford and Alder (Engineers) Ltd., axle, independent front suspension and steering gear specialists, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Its name changed to Alforder Newton Ltd. in February 1959). Alford and Alder, Newton and Bennett Ltd. and Power Jacks Ltd. were operating subsidiaries. The greater part of its production was already taken over by Standard-Triumph before they acquired the company in 1960.
