Administrative / Biographical History

The Association was founded in December 1968. It succeeded the Advisory Panel for Oil Refinery and Chemical Plant Constructors, which had been founded in 1958. The Advisory Panel dissolved itself in 1969, having handed its work and assets over to the Association. On 1 April 1994, the Association merged with the National Engineering Construction Employers' Association to form the Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA).
