Scope and Content

Twenty letters to members of the Rothschild family: to Sir Anthony De Rothschild, first Baronet, of Tring Park, and Louisa, Lady De Rothschild, and their daughters, Constance (and her husband, Cyril Flower, first Baron Battersea) and Anne, Mrs Eliot Yorke, 1863-1925. Correspondents include Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VII), 10 January 1873; the Duke of Cambridge, 1872; the Duke of Edinburgh, 21 February 1879 and Princess Louise; Hamilton Aid; Matthew Arnold; H.H.Asquith; E.F.Benson; Rhoda Broughton; Josephine Butler; Dr Creighton, Bishop of London; F.W.Farrar, Archdeacon of Westminster; Sir Arthur Helps; Ellice Hopkins; Lord Rosebery; and G.W.E.Russell; with a copy of E.C.Wickham Perfect peace (London, 1891), the sermon preached at Hawarden on the Sunday after the funeral of W.H.Gladstone.
