From William Tomkinson, relating to: the lease of Tatton to a Mr Asheton, who would succeed George Legh [Legh (or Leigh) had rented Tatton when Samuel Egerton first took over the estate]; news about the Tatton estate, residents of the Knutsford area, and Samuel's family, particularly his daughter, sent to Samuel in London; properties in which Samuel is interested, including a purchase in Ordsall [Lancashire]; in 1756 he reports on the improvements being made to Samuel's house [ie. Tatton Park], and on the estate workers.
