Originally stored in a small box addressed to Bowles at Myddelton House, marked fragile, and in Bowles’ hand ‘Colchicum from Mark’ and ‘Ogilvie-Grant’ added in pencil in a different hand

Comprises letter from Mark Ogilvie-Grant, undated [c.1951], four packets of wrapped dried specimens and further specimens unwrapped in the base of the box. One wrapped packet is labelled ‘For Mr Bowles, c/o Mark Ogilvie-Grant. Colchicum parkinsonii, probably C. aggripinum, collected by Dr C. Goumilis (of 21 Hippocrates Street, Athens) on the 25th September 1951 on Mt Kerketeus on the Island of Samos, Greece’. For more details of the letter in this folder, see EAB/appendix/2.6.1.1
