Topics include plant finds, and condolences from America, 1941 [Second World War]: ‘I was distressed to learn that your peaceful, lovely countryside had been invaded by the German bombers […] I pray that your country and your brave people do not have to suffer so very much longer, and that the US help may be speeded up so as to hasten the end of this world tragedy’.
