Administrative / Biographical History
Constance Louisa Maynard was born in 1849 and died in 1935. She was a student at Girton College 1872-1875 who subsequently helped Miss Louisa Lumsden start St Leonard's School, St Andrews, 1877-1880. She spent two years at the Slade School of Art. Largely through her energy and determination, Westfield College, London was opened in 1882 where she was Mistress from 1882 to 1913.
