File of correspondence and papers relating to Philip D. Wilson, (see also biographical file at PLA/12/3/9). Wilson came to England in 1941 with the American Hospital in Britain and was surgeon in charge of the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York. This file includes correspondence with Wilson about the training and education of orthopaedic surgeons and about Bryan McFarland, correspondence concerning Platt's visit to the Hospital for Special Surgery in 1963, and correspondence and papers relating to the meeting of the American Surgical Association in 1968 which Platt attended as Wilson's guest, including a transcript of remarks by Platt at a clinical discussion at Massachusetts General Hospital and a copy of Wilson's discussion on Dr Hallcock's paper.
