Scope and Content

This file comprises correspondence with the Liverpool Medical Institution and Royal Liverpool Hospital and biographical material relating to leading figures in orthopaedics at Liverpool. It contains a bundle of correspondence with Goronwy E. Thomas, 1978-1979 (/1-24), about an interview with Platt, the deposit of some of Platt's papers, including his correspondence with Robert Jones, in the Liverpool Medical Institution and about Pennack's experiences at Alder Hey Hospital during the first world war, with copy letters from Pennack to Platt about the administration of the Alder Hey Hospital by volunteer patients. The file also contains correspondence with Robert Owen about a visit by Platt to Royal Liverpool Hospital and the donation of the Robert Jones and Putti medallion (/25-26).
