Note by Clift verifying Hunter's handwriting

Scope and Content

Note by Clift verifying that an account of the "various operations for the relief of Hydrocele" is in the hand of John Hunter..."The Caligraphy, orthography, and punctuation, affords but a lame excuse to Sir Everard Home for destroying all Mr Hunter's manuscripts "because they were unfit to meet the public eye" The sense is strong enough and clear enough for those who are not wilfully blind."

Conditions Governing Use

Identification of copyright holders of unpublished material is often difficult. Permission to make any published use of any material from the collection must be sought in advance from the Archivist. We will try to assist in identifying copyright owners but the responsibility for copyright clearance before publication ultimately rests with the reader.
