Scope and Content

Papers, [1861x1911], of or relating to David Stephen Davies and which include manuscripts of some of his published works; material relating to Y Celt and to the Welsh colony in Patagonia; diaries; sermons and miscellaneous notes. Some of the earlier material was written by Davies while he was living and studying in the United States.

David Stephen Davies (1841-1898) served as Congregational minister at Bangor and Carmarthen; he was also an author, edited the newspaper Y Celt, and was an advocate of emigration to the Welsh colony established, 1865, in the Chubut valley, Patagonia.
