Correspondence and papers relating to the unveiling of a Blue Plaque to Sir Frederic Williams and Tom Kilburn at the Coupland I building. The ceremony was performed by Lord Sainsbury of Turville, under-secretary of state for science and innovation, on 7 April 2003. Williams and Kilburn led the team which created the first stored-program computer, which was successfully run at the University in 1948. The file includes some of the background discussions about the reasons for commissioning the plaque, together with arrangements for the ceremony, including the schedule, speech notes, and a list of attendees.
