Correspondence and papers relating to the visit of Albert Einstein to the University on 9 June 1921 to receive a honorary doctor of science degree and to deliver the Adamson Lecture [Einstein delivered a lecture in German on 'Relativity']. The papers include correspondence between Einstein and Henry Miers about the invitation, letters between Miers and Professor F.A. Lindemann concerning the travelling arrangements of Einstein's interpreter, Dr Freundlich, and a copy of the vice-chancellor's introductory speech to Einstein's lecture.
